US-TIBET-OLY-CHINA-PROTEST

Kalsang Dolma sings the Tibetan anthem as she and other protesters raise fists and wear Tibetan flags on August 15, 2008 as they demonstrate in New York’s Grand Central Terminal in response to China’s crackdown earlier this year in Tibet. In Beijing, five foreigners were set to be deported from China after unfurling a "Free Tibet" banner at one of the city’s most iconic buildings on Agust 15, 2008, in the sixth Olympic protest by pro-Tibetan activists. The activists dropped the banner, which read "Free Tibet" in English and Chinese, over an Olympics billboard near state television’s new headquarters, Students For a Free Tibet said. It said the five — an Australian-Canadian, a Briton and three Americans — were detained after the action, which was launched amid thin early-morning traffic on one of the city’s main arteries.
