The Campaign: ONE WORLD, ONE DREAM: FREE TIBET!
Tibetans and their allies campaigned against Beijing’s bid for the Games. But when the International Olympic Committee awarded the Games to Beijing in 2001, Tibet supporters turned their attention to shining the Olympic spotlight on China’s abuses in Tibet and preventing China’s attempts to use the Olympics as a propaganda tool to legitimize its occupation of Tibet. The stakes were raised in March 2008 when protests by Tibetan monks in Lhasa ignited an uprising against China’s occupation that rippled across Tibet. Now, with all eyes turning to Beijing, this is a critical moment for Tibet and the Tibetan people. Please join us in the Olympics Campaign – Free Tibet 2008!
